The Wakatipu Swim School Philosophy

Our aim at the Wakatipu Swim School is to provide aquatic services to our community which meet the needs of the wider community. The desired outcome is to improve our national drowning statistics and the quality of life through aquatic activity.

Our programmes are designed to meet the individual needs of each swimmer. We have sessions for those wishing simply to get in the pool to relax and unwind, Learn to Swim classes for babies through to Adults, Stroke Technique or Rehabilitation Clinics for safe and faster rehabilitation & Water Safety activities for infants, preschool and school age children.

Our Learn To Swim classes are provided in a happy, safe and fun environment for children from 6months to 12 years and for adults looking for private sessions with a professional and comfortable atmosphere.

Our Adult Rehabilitation Clinics are planned for the individual swimmer to enable quality swimming technique which can aid recovery from injury or illness and build fitness quickly. Include written programmes and follow up sessions upon request.

Our PrAMS in Water classes are Pregnancy Active Movement Sessions to keep you in shape during pregnancy and prepare you for birth and a faster recovery post partum. Exercises, breathing, flexibility and preparation for your new baby experiencing the water.

Our Water Safety Activites are presented within our Learn to Swim classes; annually at early childhood centres in our community; and twice yearly we run Swim for Life Challenges for the under 12 yr swimmers in our community.
