The Wakatipu Swim School Facilties

 

QUEENSTOWN CLASSES

Our base at the Queenstown Primary School Pool on Robins Road in Queenstown is fantastic. The Wakatipu Swim School have exclusive use of the pool outside of school hours and utilise the pool each afternoon Mon-Fri from 3.15pm and Saturday & Sundays too. Classes are seasonal and run from October – April annually.

The pool dimensions are 12m by 5m by 750mm at the shallow end and 1100mm at the deep end. The pool was purpose built for children learning to swim and because the preschool swimmers can touch the bottom they can start building their confidence immediately.

 

The pool environment is bright and inviting, with seating provided for watching parents around the pool. Toilets and changing facilities are adjacent to the pool.

 

The water temperature is maintained at 30 degrees Celcius throughout the season by our heat pump, our warm summers often see the temperature push up over 30 degrees Celcius. However, the air temperature cannot be so easily maintained which is why our season excludes Winter.

 

Free carparking is provided on Robins Road.

 

Alpine Aqualand, on Joe O'Connell Drive at Frankton, is available for our Learn to Swim Programme, our Adult Rehabilitation Clinics and our PrAMS sessions.

 

Admission is required to be paid to Lakes Leisure by our swimmers separately to the lesson fees.

 

The Learners Pool is 16m x 8m and a lovely 32 degrees Celcius, with a custom built ledge especially for the infant and toddler swimmers.
